While we work hard to keep this page up to date, temperature and weather can change throughout the day which can quickly change the trail conditions. For the latest conditions, please talk to the Chalet attendant during operating hours at 705-746-5067 or in person who can advise you on the best trails to use.
General Winter Trail Use Rules
Skiing
- Ski in designated direction of travel.
- Don’t skate over track set.
- Try to herringbone in skate zone and not over track.
- Ski with respect to posted trail conditions.
Winter Trail Walking or Running
- NOT permitted for the ski season.
Winter Dog Walking
- NOT permitted for the ski season.
Snowshoeing
- Snowshoe on opposite side of trail from trackset.
- Cross ski trails/tracks at right angle.
- Don’t snowshoe on ski trails if leaving an impression greater than 1 – 2 inches.
- Yield to skiers and step aside for bikers.
Fat Biking
- Bike on designated trails only.
- Bike on trails that are firm and indicated as ready for biking (don’t bike on trails that are closed to biking).
- For mixed use trails, bike on opposite side of trail from ski tracks.
- Adjust tire pressure (lower pressure leaves less imprint).
- Stay off combined ski/bike trails if bike track is leaving any imprint greater than 1 inch).
- Yield to skiers, and pass all users carefully.
Grooming Report
March Break is here and GNOAC continues to encourage members and guests to get outside and be active despite an abbreviated winter ski season.
GNOAC trails are open for multi-use.
Hikers, dog-walkers, and cyclists are welcome to use the trails.
Please leash your dog as a courtesy to others and clean up after your pet.
Try to avoid biking on soft trail sections and note that there will be wet and slippery sections on all trails.
A trail pass or membership is required for all trail users.
