Winter Training 2024 Information
Georgian Nordic Junior Ski Team (GNJST) is looking for athletes interested in training,
playing games, and participating in local and/ or provincial races for the 2024 cross-country
skiing season.
Who is it for?
- Athletes who will ski in U16 and U18 age categories in the winter 2024 cross-country skiing
season (U14 YOB 2010 should talk to Ghislain H or Jon G if they are interested) - Athletes from Parry Sound High School ski team
- University skiers who are spending the winter in the Parry Sound area.
You don’t need to be the fastest skier in town! The Georgian Nordic Junior Ski Team is composed of individuals who want to have fun learning to ski with better technique and improving their fitness, and may want to participate in local or provincial cross-country ski races.
When is it?
- The winter program runs from early January until the end of March
- Regular ski training is on Wednesdays after school at Georgian Nordic (some training on
Thursdays if there is a high school race on a Wednesday) - Racing events on weekends in January and February (some days trips, some full weekend
events) - Some Sunday afternoon training.
Note: Given that many of the GNJST athletes are Jackrabbit coaches, there will be no GNJST
training on Saturdays during the Jackrabbit season.
How much does it cost?
$250.00
What’s included?
- A Year Training Plan (YTP) appropriate for your developmental stage following the Nordiq
Canada Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model - Weekly training programs
- Two or three training / race sessions each week from January until the end of March
- Full race support and ski preparation at ski events and races.

What if you’re not certain if you should join? Attend one or two training sessions and then you can decide!
