Sounder Ski Race: Trail Use Update

Due to the Sounder Ski Race, Georgian Nordic is respectfully asking members and non-race guests to delay coming to and using our facilities and trails until after 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 5. Also, we ask that you please try to avoid skiing the race course (specifically the Jackrabbit trail) on the evening of Friday, February 4, as the grooming team will be getting ready for the race.

If you are considering skiing before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, please be aware of the following:

  • Access to the trail system will be two-way traffic using the return trail to the chalet from the swamp and the Bunny trail.
  • Access to the Lynx trail will be through the Wolf or Cottontail trails.
  • The Jackrabbit and Weasel trails will be closed.

The Sounder Ski Race 2022, a scaled-down version of the Sounder Ski Tour, is going to welcome about 150 skiers, mostly youth and university skiers from the Parry Sound area and the Southern Ontario District (SOD). This race is part of the SOD Paraffin Race Series.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
